The Gateway, Keystone in Summit County

We had a great shuttle ride up to Summit County from Denver airport. The ride took two and a half hours with some long up and down roads as we made our way around and through mountains to get here.

Day 138 – July 18th.

Having picked up the keys from the safety box from Mountain Retreats at the Mountain View Plaza the shuttle dropped us off at the Gateway entrance.

The entrance is access by a card key, and you walk in through big doors in to a large common room with fire place for the cold winter nights. There is also an entrance to a very small shop that has the essentials for a quick stay over, pasta, bread, tined foods, milk, butter etc.

Once you are in the building it’s a short walk down the corridor to our place #5060 Gateway. Some places are lived in permanently.

Our room is large with lots of space especially when the bed is packed up…

The only really negative is the size of the kitchen, also the cooking facilities are limited (we asked for a few items and they were supplied) but I can make do.

We have a TV so I can see the football and with Moni a few movies. The property also has washing facilities (wash and dry for $2.25 USD) and ice machines as well as a gym and a pool.

The outside of the front has some shops a restaurant a few condo rental places, some ski rental shops (closed for summer) and a beauty spa salon.

All in all this place is pretty dam good and for the entire month we are paying $1596.79 AUD that works out to be $51.51 per night, oh and don’t forget our view from our room.

The view from our window is to the mountains and chair lifts or gondola.
