Today we were cruising along until 8.30pm when we started to dock alongside in Palma for our overnight stop!

Like I mentioned yesterday I’ve no idea why they have this so late, it’s really only great for the young party goers, or do I see it wrong? What would you do after 9pm in Palma?

Being a sort of sea day today we had breakfast later than usual as we all decided to sleep in for a change.

After our morning breakfast and coffee, with nothing else planned I decided to take a walk around the ship and take some photos, the best of which I’ll put together in my last post a photographic tour around MSC Poesia.

We chose to have lunch in the Le Fontane restaurant for a change of scenery. At just after 1pm the left side which is our normal dinner side was already full and the right side was filling up, it seemed like lots of passengers had the same idea.

This was the lunch menu for today.

And these are the meals we chose.

Service was again average and the food ok, but the best part was that I spied our waiter that had served us 21 nights from the MSC Magnifica and called out to him. At first he was like… me! what me! as I called his name from our window table.

He came over and then recognised us and beamed with his huge smile, we chatted a bit then he got back to work.

Something that is new to us for lunch in the dining room was another small buffet set up at the back of the restaurant just like for breakfast. It had salads, cold meats & cheese, a selection of hot meals and desserts.

The afternoon was spent with some more looking around the ship, relaxing, coffee drinking in the rendez-vous before dinner in Le Fontane.

Dishes were; Roast beef wrapped asparagus en bellevue, Sunray salad, Pennette di grano duro all’amatriciana, Salmon fillet sautéed in butter, Saltimbocca, Middle Eastern falafel, Gâteau Opéra & ice cream.

The best dishes tonight were the pasta and the Opéra cake, the rest was quite ordinary.

We had finished our evening meals and were up on deck watching our arrival into Palma.

The Le Seu Cathedral in the photo on the right is very nice indeed and well worth a visit and on a nice day you could walk there from the cruise terminal which is what Moni & I did on our last visit.

It does take a good hour or more depending on your pace but it’s basically all along the waterfront.

Below is the Palma cruise terminal by night. The ship did offer a shuttle service from the ship to the city for 12.90 adults and 10.90 children which would I think should be put on for free.

After a few drinks in the wine bar we called it a night.
