Activity level descriptions according to Norwegian:
Level 1: Tours with this designation involve walking over relatively level terrain. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
Level 2: Tours with this designation can involve a considerable amount of physical activity such as walking over cobblestones or uneven surfaces, climbing many stairs or steep terrain, bicycle riding, swimming and snorkeling. They are not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. Comfortable sturdy shoes are recommended.
Level 3: Tours with this designation involve physical exertion for extended periods of time. The terrain may be uneven or steep. They are recommended only for physically fit and adventurous traveler.
Many of these cruise ship shore excursions for St. Thomas, Tortola & Nassau do sell out especially those with limited spaces. If you are pretty certain about doing a ships excursion then I’d recommend securing your place or places.
Tip – If you have already booked and paid for your tour and then decide for whatever reason you no long want to go or can’t go, just let the tour excursion staff know and you will receive refund. This must be done no later than 48 hours before arriving in the port that the tour takes place.
