My Camino Packing List
I searched long and hard for the perfect Camino packing list. In the end, the best advice I got was from a Facebook friend of mine @HelenZee who walked the Camino in 2014. I believe that advice is always best served when you actually know what you’re doing, so since Helen has experienced the joy and tribulations of the Camino first hand I figured she’d be the perfect source.
Here’s my Camino packing list:
- 34 l Deuter backpack
- 2 long hiking pants – which also roll up to 3/4
- 3 merino t-shirts
- 1 long sleeve merino top
- 3 pairs of merino socks
- 3 pairs of undies (I ordered Exofficio undies from Amazon, but they never made it to France so now I’m forced to walk with my normal undies)
- 3 sports bras
- 1 Goose down jacket
- 1 rain jacket
- 1 silk liner
- 1 pair of Ecco walking shoes
- 1 pair of Keen walking sandals
- 1 pair of light(ish) trekking poles
- 1 very cheap pair of flip flops (for the auberges + grotty showers)
- 1 quick-dry towel
- Limited bathroom supplies (toothbrush in holder with pincer, ear buds, shavers, toothpaste, comb, bar of soap, hair wash, face cream, doe, vaseline, sun cream, coconut oil)
- First Aid pack
- My 11 inch MacBook Air + charger
- My Moleskine diary (can’t function without that)
- iPhone charger + plug, blue power pack + cable, iPod + charger cable)
- Wet wipes
- BIG safety pins
- Light pair of gloves (for cool mornings)
- Long poncho
- blue silky shawl
- Merino beanie (for cool mornings)
- Sunhat
- Tissues
- Platypus 1 l water bottle (foldable) with drinking tube
This list is not 100% confirmed yet until we actually pack for real and I will post a few pics once that happens.
Update; be sure to checkout The Essential What to Pack For The Camino de Santiago Guide which is where we show you exactly what we had in our backpacks.
