Having packed our bags and left the chalet in a clean & tidy state, we went to the Waldhaus hotel to enjoy breakfast.

Day 9 Bettmeralp

The sun was up burning off the few clouds that were hanging around. Before long it would be another hot day.

Wow, this is one excellent breakfast buffet. The selection is outstanding, the quality of produce they use are top bio products. I think at least 8 types of bread, even more, varieties of preserves, and egg boiling station, cheeses & meats, juices teas etc.

The buffet was constantly kept topped up and you could have proper espresso coffee, not just drip or percolate. Very good value for the 20 Sfr and I wouldn’t hesitate to go again.

Gondola ride down to Betten

Feeling very satisfied we made our short walk to the gondola station and within minutes we were on our way down.

I remember my first gondola experience when I was scared and going over the pylons the gondola would sway and the passengers made whoa sounds… Today I’m a gondola pro.

At the bottom, we have a short walk to the car park and soon we are on the road back to Bern.

That completes our week on the Bettmeralp in the Aletsch Arena. We had an amazing time together with Brassli & Mister experiencing the walking trails of the Alpine region.

The Bettmeralp has once again left us with wonderful memories that will fuel our hearts for years to come.

If anyone reading is considering the Swiss Alps as a destination, be it summer or winter, rest assured that the Bettmeralp and Aletsch Arena is fabulous, you won’t be disappointed.
