Tiny House Festival Australia in Bendigo
Here we are at the very first Tiny House Festival Australia. We’ve driven from Strathalbyn SA to Bendigo VIC for this two-day event held at the Bendigo racecourse.
Days 1842/1843 – March 23rd / 24th 2019
The Tiny House movement is really taking hold amongst young and old alike. The driving force is the call of freedom and escaping the rat race.
We spent every hour at the festival soaking in as much information as humanly possible. We looked in every display, from small teardrop vans to mini busses to larger converted buses to small tiny house on wheels right up to huge shipping containers fully decked out.
There were lots of homes on display for a first event and the next event which is in the pipeline is set to be even bigger.
Darren Hughes & Lisa Adams, the brains behind the Tiny House Australia festival were not sure how it would pan out. It turns out that there is lots of interest and the event was a huge success.
There are lots of car parking spaces at the event. There was a good selection of food vans and places to get coffee around the event. Even if at times it did seem a little unorganised we personally feel it was a great festival for the first time and can and will grow into a huge festival in the future.
Moni was lucky enough to secure a ticket to see Bryce Langston give his talk in a break out seminar. Bryce is the success behind ‘Living Big In A Tiny House‘ TV show. Also here at the event was Dee Williams whom we first met in Portland where she had her tiny home on display back in 2014.
Like always, I took far too many photos of which I will only share a few. Lots were of things that we might need when doing our research for our Tiny House in the future.
