Cafe Velvet in Parque Lleras Medellin is worth a visit if you like good coffee.

It’s not difficult to find and only a short walk from where the bus stops along the main road in Poblado. Or you could take a taxi.

Cafe Velvet is almost opposite the Café Pergamino which is another good place to enjoy a coffee. This place is very open and on our visit was busy with people working on laptops and holding business meetings.

After enquiring if they made ‘flat whites’ the guy at the counter on the customer side said yes of course and so we ordered two. As you can see the resulting coffee’s were pretty average. They lacked body, creme, and any flavour. Not so sure that the person who I do think was the owner/manager as he was there when I paid, really knows what a flat white is.

If you want a better coffee order a cappuccino from Pergamino, it’s more like a flat white that us Australians know.
