Great Coffee and Bakery at Granier Las Palmas
You probably know that we are coffee snobs… And so you will be pleased to find out that we have found a decent place to get our daily fix.
I’m not usually a friend of franchise places but we’ve found this one here in Gran Canaria to be very consistent and offer great value.
You can find the Granier bakery cafes all around and we have one less than a hundred steps away, dangerous I know… we really have to watch ourselves and not over do it. 🙂
We’ve paid between 90 cents and €1.30 so far for a cortado which is like a small flat white in Aussie terms. It’s more than a Macchiato which is a shot of coffee (espresso) just stained with froth.
This is a cortado according to Katharine Shilcutt from Houstonia mag.
Here in the Canary islands it is a shot of coffee (espresso) topped with heated milk, normally more than in a macchiato. At our local Granier they don’t really texture the milk, just heat it but he result is pretty good. With textured milk, this would be the perfect coffee for us.
A flat white has too much milk and a macchiato has too little… A cappuccino too much milk again.
Granier is very much a bakery as well with a huge range of pastries and breads for sale.
Our favourite deal for the pastries is three Napolitanas for €2
Enjoy your cortado or your favourite coffee & pastries at Granier in Las Palmas.
