Keystone Lake in Summit County

Another gorgeous day in Keystone and we decide to walk to the lake which is about 45 minutes away in a neighbouring village.

Day 162 – August 11th.

After doing some work first thing this morning, we wanted to have lunch out and get some fresh air.

Michelle had mentioned this place to us the other day while on the photo shot and we decided to pay it a visit. The walking path which is also used by bicyclists runs at the base of the mountains and along the river all the way into the next village and beyond.

“Keystone Lake freeze’s in winter and is turned into an ice rink for the season”

It is very pituresque by the lake which actually freeze’s in winter and is turned into an ice rink for the season, a good thing as the ski lifts are a bit further to walk from here.

Sitting under shades at the Edgewater cafe at Keystone resort we enjoy our lunch and beers for over an hour watching the paddle boats and geese on the lake it’s all very relaxing.

After lunch we walk back home past some lovely resorts build with stone and wood which actually fit in with the mountain scene.

About half way it begins to lightly rain before big thunder rumbles as we are nearly home, lucky us.
