Snug Cove and The Marina on Bowen Island
The weather was fantastic today and with it being so we decided to take the scooters in to town. Being a Sunday Bowen Island was busy with lots of day trippers over to explore. We were doing some exploring ourselves and drove the scooters to the furthest point at Snug Cove.
Day 111 – June 21st.
Snug Cove has a nice marina, but also on the other side a secluded beach area where some yachts drop anchor, the spot commands wonderful views, especially on days like today.
The beach itself is not sandy, rather more pebbles and broken shell, with many tree logs around which make for excellent seats. The water is clear and cool, we didn’t see anyone swimming.
We then moved on, not far to the marina side where we stopped for a bite to eat and a local beer. A place called ‘Doc Morgans’ has a wonderful advantageous position that looks out on to the marina with the mountains as a back drop. We thought it would make for a great place to relax and take it all in.
The sweet potato chips with smokey mayo sauce were tasty and the beer also. The place was packed and I can see why.
The marina is nicely protect here and on a beautiful day where else would you want to be?
The marina has a good few boats in, the water is clear and clean yet again no one in swimming, only the odd dog playing fetch with their owner.
