We have about six days for this drive and will stop along the way at Broken Hill, Cobar, Moree before reaching Aspley.

Day 1; Strathalbyn to Broken Hill 560 km (6 hr 22 min). Coffee stop in Riverton. It took us a bit longer but who’s counting!

Spotted this tiny house on wheels…

Through Burra, Ulooloo, Terowie, Oodla Wirra, Yunta, Manna Hill, Olary, Mingary, Cockburn to Broken Hill.

The Border Gate establishment (formally a hotel) sits directly on the highway right where the sign is. The more famous Coburn hotel is on the turn off directly opposite.

Naturally, we stopped in Cockburn for a photo at the border sign and had a drink at the Co’burn Hotel. You’d not be mistaken to think that I’ve misspelt the name. Actually, the space for the name on the original hotel wasn’t big enough for the entire name so they dropped the letters CK, true story 🙂

From here it’s only 48 km to Broken Hill.
