Upgrade to the Grand Hotel Savoia Genoa, Italy
Upgrade special for our hotels dot com booking
From the Hotel Continental to the sister hotel next door the Grand Hotel Savoia.
Check out the tariff schedule below and the smile on Moni 🙂 🙂 🙂
According to that tariff we got one hell of an upgrade. Now let me show you the room.
A huge king size bed with lots of pillows and wonderful linen.
There is a writing table with a couple of stiff chairs some old style literature, lamps & tv on the wall.
There is a mini bar with beverages at normal prices and a kettle to make tea or coffee as well as a bottle of complimentary water.
The bathroom is large with a huge tub and rain shower. There is a stack of thick towels with a heating rail which is always luxury. A variety of shampoo, bath salts, lotions etc as well as items that you could ring reception for.
Everything was in good condition and well presented in the room.
This room was on the fifth floor with a view to the inside of the hotel which is in a U shape which means we looked out on other rooms.
The rest of the hotel continues in the stylish manner throughout.
On the seventh floor you find a room that becomes a restaurant or special venue at certain times, from here you can get out onto the terrace where you have great views over the city and port.
This is the view to the Genoa train station from the top floor terrace, as you can see it’s very close.
And next door the Hotel Continental.
We found the staff very friendly and efficient. When checking out I made a reservation for the Sunday when we return from the cruise. I hadn’t planned on this as my thoughts were that we’d be able to store our luggage at the train station and spend the day enjoying the city before our train at 11pm.
Unfortunately the station only has a left luggage service that opens from 9am to 8pm and we’d have to collect the bags before closing time. FYI, the price to store the bags was between 12-15 euro per piece, so nearly 60 euro all up for our four bags.
Knowing that we decided to book a room and relax for 105 euro from 10am till 8pm.
