Visiting Juneau by Cruise Ship
Once again, four ships in Juneau Alaska, just as there were on our previous visit to Juneau. Not the same ones I might add either. As you can see, Alaska is a very popular destination for cruise lines.
Cruise Day 12 – Juneau
Day 95 – June 5th, 2014.
Nothing like a good breakfast to start the day. The Oosterdam chefs certainly do produce great food, and breakfast in the dining room is very pleasant. Moni loves her eggs Benedict. Me, I’m a bacon, eggs and beans guy.
The buffet is equally as good, with a wide selection to self-serve from. You can enjoy a meal from the buffet nearly all day long. The food was presented well and looked fresh, not so dried out like so many buffets.
We didn’t go out on our visit to Juneau today as we had spent the day walking around the town of Juneau last week when we were here.
It was nice staying onboard with a few other guests that also decided not to get off. Even though I write a few other guests, it was more than I’d expected. As we later found out, many of the people we spoke with have visited Juneau and Alaska before and like us didn’t feel the need to venture out in the cold.
Moni managed to get online and complete some tasks with a pretty sound internet connection.
Dinner in the Vista dining room
After our enjoyable dinner we walked around the promenade deck, which on MS Oosterdam actually does go all around the ship on deck 3.
As you can see, the sun is still up at around 10 pm.
The scenery is stunning. Never pass up the opportunity to cruise in Alaska especially if on a cruise.
Tomorrow we will visit Ketchikan for a second time, as we make our way towards Vancouver. Let’s hope the sun comes out for us.
