A strange title in a way really for this sanctuary just a few kilometres drive from Broken Hill center.

I’m not sure what is living out here but I guess that’s for each of us to discern…

There are 12 sculptures on display and to walk around takes about 45 minutes more or less depending on whether you stop to read the information.

Entrance is $6 per adult. You can park down at the huge BBQ area where there are very clean toilet facilities. However, it is a reasonable hike up to the Living Desert State Park Broken Hill. I’d suggest driving up to the top and it’s basically a minute walk from there.

At different times during the day, I can expect these sculptures to take on new appearances depending on the sun.

As you can see, these sculptures are placed along a path that you follow which returns you to the carpark.
