The Top 10 Things To See & Do in Yokohama
This is a list of top ten things to see and do in Yokohama when visiting by cruise or for longer.
You don’t have to follow the exact way I have mentioned them, but it would be possible. Bear in mind what time of day you arrive in Yokohama and also how long you have to spend in the city.
Let’s start by walking away from #1 Osanbashi Cruise terminal and pier to the right where you’ll head towards the Red Brick Buildings.
Walking over the Shinko-bashi Bridge you will arrive at the #2 Red Brick buildings in the #3 Minato Mirai 21 area.
Here you can find the #4 Cupnoodles Museum, the giant #5 Cosmo Clock 21 Ferris Wheel at Cosmoworld amusement park (closed Thursdays) and other attractions, and probably best viewed at night.
From here you can continue walking and head over another small bridge towards the InterContinental Yokohama Grand & Convention Center, (that’s the curved building in the photo above). From here you can continue to walk towards Queen’s Square Yokohama and past the three Queen’s buildings before arriving at the #6 Landmark Tower & Sky Garden Observation area.
Next to the Landmark Tower you will see the #7 Sail Training Ship Nippon Maru.
Now head back towards the left and head in the direction of Chinatown, on the way you’ll pass many impressive buildings among them, the “towers”.
These stately and unique buildings are affectionately nicknamed “Jack”‚ “King”‚ and “Queen” and are easy to walk to in different directions.
Depending on the time of day, you might want to go towards the waterfront and walk around #8 Yamashita Park or go up the #9 Yokohama Marine Tower before venturing into #10 Chinatown.
At the rear of Chinatown, you could walk to the Yokohama Stadium which is also only a short walk from the town.
As you can see, I have added more than ten places of interest in my top 10 things to see in Yokohama which depending on your interests you might prefer. I also recommend that you take a look at this visitors map, which clearly shows these places and much more.
