Maybe The Best Coffee in Medellin is at Cafe Revolucion
Cafe Revolucion has only been open for a few months and has already established itself as the place to go for coffee the best coffee in Medellin, well according to Tripadvisor anyway.
It’s run by two ‘Gringos’ Bryan and Zsolti who wanted to have a place where they could drink great coffee and enjoy quality cakes. They figured the only way to get what they wanted, (and apparently what a lot of us tourists want as well) was to start a place themselves and voila Cafe Revolucion was established.
The place is not huge with four tables inside and I think the same outside, the walls have some nice art on display for sale and some cool tunes in the background. The place has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with the focus on good coffee, the various homemade cakes are on the counter under clear lids with a coffee machine against a wall and the beverage list above.
They also make toasted flat bread sandwiches and other delights, that we will have to come back to sample.
We chose flat whites and chocolate cake. The coffee was great, just what we had hung out for, strong, full of flavour with awesome creme. The milk was tempered to the correct temperature and was perfect to drink.
As for the chocolate cake, boy was that good. A slightly crunchy crust with a soft center, not a self saucing center but just moist enough to tease.
Two coffees and one cake was 12,600 peso $7.10 AUD, great value, and they have a rewards card so after eight coffees you get one for free, these guys are switched on and source only local coffee. If you want a great coffee, like an espresso, or latte etc not your local black juice from hell drip drip stuff then head to Cafe Revolution in Laurels near Estadio in Medellin.
