Moji to Oshima in Rough Waters
We said goodbye to Nack this morning before departing Moji continuing on towards Oshima. It was a great time that we spent together and we look forward to seeing him again.
Day 60 – May 2nd.
We all had breakfast before Mr Nack left to make his way back to Osaka as his time on Big Elle for this trip was over, he had work commitments.
With some fresh supplies purchased last night we enjoy a healthy filling breakfast today. We have plenty of dry produce on board but need to buy fresh when we get the chance.
Captain manouvers Big Elle into open waters that are slightly bumpy.
Only the slight bumps began to get bigger, and it was not long before we were getting splashed about.
The shallow water depth of only the 20m was the cause of the swell.
Captain decides to call it quits against battling the elements for today. So the planned next destination of Yobuko had to change.
The nearest port for us was Oshima and as soon as we made it to calmer waters it was a relief, to have gone on for another three hours like that would have been tough.
At Oshima we relaxed and a few of us went for a walk to the Munakata shrine.
Before walking back along the water front to Big Elle where we had Blow fish for dinner.
We all were tired after the past few days and were happy to just chill out and relax.
This is the map from today’s short journey.
