One of our main habits is the love of good coffee, and you can be sure that among the first questions asked of our new friends Brian & Shasta was… where on Bowen Island do you get good coffee?

Well neither of them drink coffee and we were left wondering, but not for long because Brian knows lots of people on the island that do drink coffee and the unanimous word of mouth vote is, “Gino makes the best coffee”. So it’s off to try out Gino’s coffee.

The Bowen Island coffee shop owned by Gino is small but well presented. It is easy to find like everything else on Bowen, tucked in behind the Ruddy Potato store. It has plenty of parking if you want to grab and go with your favourite brew.

We have latte’s and enjoy the local roast with good crema. Over the next few days we enjoy several coffees either sitting inside or out depending on the weather. We combine a coffee treat with our shopping trip.

Lucky for us that Shasta has two scooters that we can use, one of them is electric the other fuel. Having use of these really allows us to be independent and hence we have been in to town on a few occasions. With our coffee break over it’s a twelve minute scooter ride back home.
