Galley Tour on Celebrity Infinity, Top Chef at Sea
Day 279 – December 6th, 2014.
The highlight of today was the Galley Tour at 10.30am.
As you can see we are cruising in the Caribbean sea heading towards Cartagena in Colombia.
“The Galley tour is your chance to see the kitchens”
We always go to the Galley tour if it is offered on the ship as being retired professional chefs it’s still very interesting to see and show our appreciation to these hard workers behind the scenes.
Zafer Colak the F&B Director who we first met on the Celebrity Millennium was really pleased to see us and we chatted with him before joining the tour.
We actually had dinner at the Captains table with Zafer and his wife while on the Millennium and which made our relationship extra special.
This Galley tour was very similar to the Celebrity Millennium Galley tour that we did back in May this year.
After the tour of the Galley we had time for a coffee in the Café al Bacio before handing in our passports for the various customs that we will be passing in each country on the way to Chile.
“Top Chef At Sea”
Dinner tonight reflected the Top Chef At Sea theme that Celebrity have in conjunction with the very popular tv show.
The menu had dishes that were from different episodes of the show and the chefs that created them.
Our meals were very nice and so was the service. Tonight we had waiters Serkan & Soner from Turkey and they were a great team. It was the first time that a waiter had really gone that extra mile and explained things about the dishes and also interacted with the guests more than the standard… “may I take your order sir”.
“Show time & 80’s music challenge”
After dinner we saw the show… Travis Turpin – Singer, Impressionist and Musician who was very entertaining. Then we decided to partake in the 80’s music challenge in the Constellation Lounge. Two teams were made and the battle began. It was a close contest and Moni & I were very good at helping our team, however the other team was better and manged to get the bonus round points and therefore won.
We had lots of fun standing on the chairs and making lots of noise for our teams (part of the game) before a MJ Thriller dance a first for me, I think it showed.
Later we danced for a while to the magical 80’s hits.
Back to the cabin for a good nights sleep.
