Today we had a dinner date just the two of us in town on Bowen Island at Tuscany Restaurant, it had been recommend to us and only having a few days left we decided tonight would be perfect.
Day 125 – July 5th.
Having dropped Brian & Shasta off earlier in the day at the ferry as they were heading to the mainland to visit some friends, we had the car, which was handy and allowed us to drive in comfortably for our Dinner at Tuscany Restaurant on Bowen Island. The other good thing was that Brian & Shasta were returning on the 9pm ferry and could then drive us home which meant we could enjoy a bottle of wine with our meals.
We had a table right in front of the kitchen which had it’s good and bad points. Sure we could see what was going on, but we also had everybody walking past us all night in and out of the kitchen.
We ordered our meals and enjoyed each course, the place will not gain any stars that’s for sure but it was very enjoyable, the good thing was it was busy which is really great to see and we would go back again if we lived here.
The service lacked the attention to detail that I’d have liked, probably as they were busy, but pouring your own wine and not checking back on us was not good.
The menu has lots of choice and a blackboard has the specials on, including desserts. All up we spent a couple of hours there and enjoyed ourselves. The total was $100.00 which included a small tip.
Perfect timing as we left the restaurant to see Brian & Shasta walking towards us and the car.
